You can make a difference to unprivileged children
Breaks4Kids gives children from low income households, the chance to participate in school trips and youth group activities. This introduces them to a wider world, expands horizons, builds self esteem and confidence and enhances their communication skills.
"We were delighted when we found out the Breaks4Kids funding had been given to our group. This will make a tremendous difference to the running of the trip – we can now afford to take children who would otherwise have no holiday at all during the year. For many of them inner city life in a deprived area is pretty grim – a week away from it all makes a massive difference to them and often to their families."
Every year, Breaks4Kids is over subscribed; we hate to turn away any applications so this year we have increased our funding target to £1million. From March 2007, we will contribute £3 from every YHA membership we receive. This will go into the Breaks4Kids pot, along with kind contributions from our corporate sponsors and individual supporters.
